On 11 February 2019, DEFRA published Guidance on importing and exporting waste if there is a no-deal Brexit

The new waste guidance largely confirms the information in the government’s October 2018 technical notice on transboundary waste shipments already reported on this site. It sets out the practical procedure for waste shipments from the UK to the EU, and vice versa, including duly reasoned requests and customs declarations. The Guidance also confirms that the UK government has secured agreement that 98% of UK consents for shipments of notifiable waste that go beyond 29 March 2019 will be rolled over.
